Is what I tell you confidential?
Everything you tell me is confidential and will not be repeated outside the counselling room except in the following circumstances:
* I have regular consultations (supervision) with a senior colleague as required by the ethical guidelines of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. Supervision helps and supports me in my work and ensures that I am working ethically and in your best interests;
* There is a legal requirement to report if I believe that either you or someone else is at risk of harm. In those circumstances I will always try to discuss this with you first.

How long are sessions?
Sessions last for 50 minutes and are usually held at the same time and day on a weekly basis. For more intensive psychotherapy sessions can take place two or three times a week.
How much will it cost and will I have to pay for missed sessions?
My fees for the initial session £60 for individuals and £75 for couples. The fees for ongoing sessions are £55 for individuals and £70 for couples. Commitment is a vital aspect of the therapeutic relationship and I therefore charge for unattended sessions except for prearranged holidays.
If you cannot help me?
I will try to refer you to other professionals or organisations if either of us feel that my service is unsuitable for you.
What do I do next?
Please call me first on 01992 420994 or 07954 701268 to discuss your needs and we can make a mutually convenient appointment for our first session. You can also email me on the link set out at the top of the page. Please be assured that there is no commitment to go further than our initial meeting.
How will I know if this is the right therapy for me?
We can discuss your concerns and if after a few sessions you feel it is not right for you I can help you to find a more appropriate counsellor or psychotherapist.
Where is your consulting room?
My consulting room is situated on a main road in Hoddesdon and is easily accessible by bus - 310, 316 and 317- from Hertford, Ware, Harlow, Broxbourne, Cheshunt and Waltham Cross; and is a 15 minute walk from Rye House station, with links to stations between Liverpool Street, Tottenham Hale and Hertford East. How will I know when it is time to end?
The sessions will end when you feel the time is right.I usually set a date a few weeks or months ahead, depending on how long you have been coming, in order to tie up any loose ends and give us time to address any feelings of loss and anxiety which may come to the surface in the process of ending.
